The Ewan Family have been nurturing the Stampwell flock of Shetlands since 2013, enhancing and improving the quality of the wool and the meat. The variety we produce here are traditional and slow-maturing, meaning that we winter a larger proportion of the flock than on most farms.

We graze holistically, moving the sheep around the farm on a rotational grazing system which means they are able to enjoy the shade of the plum orchards in the heat of summer, and enjoy the calm of the ‘Serengeti’ paddocks in the lambing season. This also does much to work with he wildlife restoration, and works sympathetically with the management of the land that is sensitive to orchid and wild flower propagation.
